If you're playing the DS version, it'll be better than you remembered it being. The DS version definitely beats the other versions, particularly the PS1 version.

Is the ps1 version bad? I never found too much wrong with it, but I haven't played it or the snes version in years. I remember thoroughly enjoying both.
Sadly, until they come out with a ds player for the wii, I won't be playing that version.
I've finally got around to continuing Treasure of the Rudras. I'm enjoying it, but at this point I do kinda just want to get done with it. This is partially because I really want to start playing Front Mission, and partially because there are a lot of flaws in the game. I'll probably write up a mini-review of it when I'm done.
I'm known as ZebetiteGlitch or Zeza Von Thantos on other platforms.
I'm focusing on Chrono Trigger as well right now. PS1 version. I can confirm that the loading times are horrendous. Normally loading times don't bother me. This is noticeably bad. BUT that aside, seems like an awesome game for the first half hour anyway.
The load times are undesirable. Did they add cutscenes to the PS1 version too? I never owned that compilation that it was a part of.
RPGs that I am currently playing: Magic Knight Rayearth (SAT) Phantasy Star IV (GEN) Secret of Mana (SNES) Skies of Arcadia (DC) Vagrant Story (PS1)
Perhaps I shouldn't have so many going at the same time, but I like to make use of all of my consoles. If only I were in the middle of NES and PS2 games too. Can't wait for my PC Engine Duo-RX to arrive. A lot of the RPGs that I have already purchased for that console are going to be my first attempts at playing RPGs in Japanese. Should be a rewarding struggle.
Just beat Shining Force III Scenario 1. Fantastic game, definitely worthy of it's reputation. Gonna take a break on the Shining games before I get into Scenario 2.
I was playing Terranigma but I kind of fell off the boat on it. I was really liking it at first but it's not doing much to hold my interest any longer. I feel like I should finish it anyway though since I'm pretty close to the final chapter (I think).
Next up will either be Suikoden III or Shadow Hearts.
@ZenErik: Cutscenes were added yes, with Akira Toriyama's awesome character designs and all. They were pretty cool, but I'd certainly take the original version over it.
@brunoafh: It's definitely worth it dude, how far are you? I'd say the middle of the game is somewhat of a slow drive, when it turns into more of a fetch quest, Actrasier simulation kind of experience or something. I preferred the dungeon crawling first half of the game when you were all alone and it was pretty damn eerie. But the final portions of the game are worth it and the ending is amazing. It's a game I might not replay, but I look back on it and say it was definitely worth it.
Final boss kicked my ass though, but I found a really good grinding spot to level up so much it's not even funny, so I overleveled and then beat it easily lol. If you need help on that let me know.
