What was the last movie you've seen?

THANK YOU. I do have a review linked in my sig - I gave it 2/5 when it was in theaters. From what I hear, the sequel is somehow worse.
what notched it up from a one? I like a lot of those actors for the most part. But there was only one joke in the whole movie: "hey, apparently we did something stupid when we were fucked up last night." Meh.

It doesn't rely on dialogue for the laughs but rather the situation there in is where the comedy is at.

i actually found the opposite. i thought the situation as a whole was okay and i thought specific situations - such as when the guys get arrested and are tasered - to be stupid.

what i loved was the interactions between the characters and the dialogue. i didn't think anything was laugh out loud funny, but i still very much enjoyed the original. part II was also good.
if you took a shit, please put it back

I think this was my big problem with it. Everyone was raving about how funny it was, but I never actually laughed ONCE watching it.

I haven't seen it yet, but I heard someone on IMDb say that if she was younger, Lori Petty would have been perfect for the role of the main character (IDK her name... Lisbeth?).

I wish she'd get more work cuz she's one of my fave actresses.

I just watched a biopic about Eddie Izzard called Believe: The Eddie Izzard Story. While I've seen some of his shows and I've enjoyed his material over the years, I'll admit that going in I knew very little about Izzard's personal history. What I got featured funny moments but was much more about what the man was willing to endure and do in his attempt to be creatively recognized, his trials and tribulations, and the amount of work he had to do to get anywhere. I don't really know what I was expecting, but I got more out of it than I expected.

It is very quotable.

I would rate THE HANGOVER a 2.5 out of 4, but if you're ever on a road trip with two buddies you should definitely sing "three best friends".

edit* Go see SUPER; it's great.

I enjoyed the first Hangover movie; I thought it had good writing and the narrative structure was one not seen very often in a comedy, and yet it still worked well. The characters were well-suited for their roles, and everything just seemed to click. The Hangover Part II, however, was an atrocious mess. It is like Home Alone 2; same actors, same plot, same jokes, same sequence of events, different setting. The only difference is that Home Alone 2, standing alone, was pretty good. The Hangover Part 2 was just an unwatchable train wreck. It tried to incorporate the highly questionable lewdness and raunchiness of South Park (of which I have also never been fond of) and shoehorn it into incompatible characters and a predictable storyline to create something unrecognizable and horrid. So why did the movie do so well at the box office? Because everyone missed the first movie, and after reading the reviews, the world let out a resounding "It can't be that bad". Ninety minutes later, they let out a resounding "Oh."

2011 Movies:

Blades of Glory
The Darjeeling Limited
Robin Hood: Men in Tights
Scream 4
Lions for Lambs
Shrek the Third *NEW*
Kung Fu Panda *NEW*

I've seen Shrek the Third before, but I'd pretty much forgotten most of the plot. It's still a good movie if you don't compare it to Shrek's first outing.

As for Kung Fu Panda, that movie is a lot better than it has any right to be.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - the First Movie.

Anthropomorphic turtles fighting ninjas in New York in 1987. It's as much fun as it sounds.
