Trying to identify an old text adventure game

Post by noiseredux »

This is what is remembered: it was a text adventure that involved being at a party, and maybe eating pizza, and having a choice between drinking beer or something else. And if you chose beer then after you left the party and drove home you might get pulled over for drunk driving. Anyone have any idea?

there's a text game called Photopia that starts you out driving drunk with a friend but then the game makes a transition to you being another person on a distant planet...

sorry I can't be of any more help. the text game genre has kinda faded into obscurity, you know?

Softporn Adventure

(Fun fact thats Robert Williams on the right)

The opening scenes of the game you are in a bar and have the choice between Whiskey and Beer. It is an early Sierra (before they were known as Sierra) adventure game.

That's got to be the greatest game cover ever. Robert Williams was looking good in those days. 8)

yes I know Softporn Adventure -- but don't think that's it. This game gives you a choice between soda and beer (I think).

Fun fact: When I was wee, an older kid gave me this game. Me, being the enterprising wee person that I was, printed out all of the game text on my daisy wheel printer. I then proceeded to bring it to school, and read it to the other children.

I got a three day vacation for that. :P

Alter Ego?

I don't recall the scenario you describe, but this game had all sorts of dilemmas like that. Like life, if you make the wrong choice, there may be consequences; or you might just have a hell of a time.
