NES Colors
NES Colors
Hello everyone I am wanting to repaint my NES to the original colors but im getting conflicting information on what the colors were, one person told me that it was white and grey and on wikipedia it says it was 2 shades of grey, so my question is which is it? thanks in advance for any help/advice!
Re: NES Colors
Why are you repainting it? did someone paint it or is it just really yellow? If it is just discolored try the Retrobright process, it works amazingly well

Re: NES Colors
seriously look into the retr0bright process then. Painting it will not give you that new from the box look, it'll only look like a painted NES and you will lose the logos. Not to mention painting is hard to get a nice even coat and looks cheesy and cheap.
Heres a post on pcenginefx with some before and after shots of the process on some piss yellow Pc Engines.

If you do it right your NES will look brand new again and will look factory fresh

Re: NES Colors
Well in that case, the colors were light gray on top and dark gray on bottom, I'm sure there are tons of pics online. If you want it to look more original go for a matte finish. Gloss never looks right with game consoles and will stick out when next to your other systems
