That's absurd. Take it back!

Thats not true, when I bought L.A. Noire at Kmart I got a $20 gaming coupon (which I plan to use on Infamous 2) and a 19.99 and under game FREE. It was a better deal than anyone was offering online.

Amazon was offering a $20 credit and selling it for a few bucks less than MSRP. Free shipping too.

There are always exceptions. 9 times out of 10 online is the way to go. It's undeniable that buying games online will save you hundreds and makes things much more convenient. I'm not saying I'm happy about it, I think it's kind of unfortunate actually.

I think this only applies to new games, and works almost the exact opposite for old games.

I believe he's trying to say that used games (older games) tend to be cheaper in a brick and mortar store. For example, Gamestop tends to have decent prices on older used games and also run many promotions. Then, you have to factor in places like Goodwill, Thrift, and Pawn stores as well, which result in some very good finds.

For example, a $1.00 game online will still be at least $4 - 5.00 after shipping from ebay. Whereas, I have gotten many comparable PS2 games for $2 or $3 at Gamestop in mint condition and the thrill of finding it as well.

Of course, I always have my cell phone with me and make sure that there isn't a better deal online. I always try to find the best price when possible.

However, I will agree that purchasing new releases or even new games in general will often yield a better price online. I make nearly 80% of my purchases for video games off of Amazon.com, and Cheapassgamer is very helpful in finding good deals on games as well.

One of the Goodwills around here has a PS game case on a shelf w/ the CD's, however the disc is missing... but NO WORRIES!!! It says right on the cover of the case "Ask for disc" written in permanent marker. Yay. Sure it can be replaced, but it's definitely bad form.

But other than that, I've only seen the stickers used for price indication.

I always was bummed out when I'd read this thread because I'd always think to myself "Man, I've never found anything of this caliber in my video game/treasure hunting journeys."

Until yesterday.

Saw a pile of n64 games in a case at my nearby overpriced goodwill (all video games, even atari games, are at least $5, some even $10, super common games too like Combat for 2600), figured I might as well take a look at what they were, and saw what I thought was a gameshark 3.0 near the back of the pile.

It wasn't a gameshark.
