It's all good. I ended up playing Guardian Heroes for like 5 hours. Genjuro is beast!

Re: Austin, TX Racketboy members' meet ups
Big apologies folks, but a meet up is not going to happen in May (unless someone else puts something together). My schedule is uncertain until June. So we will shoot for sometime next month. I still want to do a straight up Streets of Rage meet if you guys are still cool with that.

Re: Austin, TX Racketboy members' meet ups
phaedrus and I stopped by Pinallz today during lunch. That's right, they are now open 7 days a week and have new hours. The place has changed a lot! They have the 4 player TMNT up and running, a deluxe Time Crisis 3 is about to go up and SEGA Super GT running in probably the cleanest, best working cab I have ever seen it in. I also noticed a Pole Position pod near the classic games at the front. The overall layout of the place really makes sense now.

Very, very cool. I will have to check out the new stuff soon.

The wife wants to check out some of the new games at Pinz (yeah, you read it right). We will be heading up there around 8 tonight. Gotta' stop by Coco's and get bubble tea first.

Re: Austin, TX Racketboy members' meet ups
Wow it was packed. I don't think TMNT had fewer than 3 players during the 2 hours we were there.
We pumped about about $5 into SEGA Super GT. Damn that cab is in good shape. It really is my favorite arcade racing game of all time. Probably because it was never released on a console.
Poor Virtual On needs even more TLC. It is playable, but the seats are still locked and the left stick on player 1 feels like it could use a new spring. It wasn't receiving any play. I think it would benefit from a couple of hours in the hands of an accomplished technician and a move to a different area of the arcade.
Time Crisis 3 was getting a work out. Unfortunately player 1's display has some dead spots that prevented me from getting any further than the beginning of 1-2 by memory. I think that turning the brightness up would fix it.

Anybody going to the GameOver show at The Parish tonight?
Re: Austin, TX Racketboy members' meet ups
Speaking of Game Over sponsored events, quintorro.......
Classic Games Fest 2011 is coming next month. This is always a lot of fun. Maybe the Racketboy folks can meet up at some of these events.

phaedrus and I are already talking about going to the Final Fantasy event. I want to enter the Ehrgeiz tourney. Should be horrible fun.
The guys from the meetups group are scheduled to do a shmups meet next Tuesday night (myself the suggester).

I will most likely be at both of those.wip3outguy7 wrote:phaedrus and I are already talking about going to the Final Fantasy event. I want to enter the Ehrgeiz tourney. Should be horrible fun.
