But that's the problem. A basic Google search like that is not at all a strong research tool for getting to any kind of scientific or objective truth on an issue. If I Google "vaccines and autism" or "truth about 9/11" I am going to get a shit-ton of crackpot "evidence" related to these issues.
exactly. similar to how simplehammar posted the link to the protein myths. just ONE research article was cited for the first myth - not to mention NOTHING was said about the parameters or methods of it - and because of this people just assume taking massive amounts of protein is safe. all just crackpot "evidence."

and i heard the arnold schwarzenager used to eat his own man sauce back in the day for the protein.

I admit that was the first place my mind went to when I originally saw the topic title the other day.

Having said that, I'm sure I wasn't the only one. Maybe the joke is too easy.

Trust me, I've done more than just a basic google search on this...

And there is more than just the internet. There's also something called books. Some people might still remember the concept. I've read a lot of those too on the subject. Subject meaning food, not just milk. For one thing, drinking milk is one of the main reasons why a lot of people have a calcium deficiency. You want calcium?... Eat grean veggies and radishes, don't drink milk. Your immune system, intestines and bones will thank you...

But nevermind. Someone here already warned me this would all fall on deaf ears, and unfortunately he is right. Those of you that take me somewhat seriously can just look into the fact that milk is really bad for you and why. There's multiple reasons for this. The others, feel free to ignore me over this one. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it...

Yeah yeah, I've read Food, Inc. too. Just because something is in book format doesn't make it any better than what's on the web. In my experience that book in particular was a hot mess of genuine insight and experience mixed with some highly selective research. A mixed bag.

But you haven't done anything to demonstrate to your audience (us) that it is indeed a FACT. You said "google it' and then retorted with "well i also read some books" and "if you don't believe me then fuck it". I'm not picking on you and you aren't the only guilty one...I am only trying to raise the level of conversation here! If you want to talk intelligently about what people should or shouldn't put in their bodies and why...try to actually do it intelligently!

Well, in all honesty, I never heard of that one. I'm talking real books about nutrition. The ones that get rather boring for most people after a while... lol

I'm no educator here. I simply try to point in the right direction. Making people look into something themselves should be half the fun. And that way, they don't have to take my word for it. Anyways, it's been a long time since I looked into those subjects (microwaves and milk for instance) myself, so I'm bound to forget some things also. Therefore it's better to let people look things up themselves. I was somewhat hoping they would have the intelligence to separate fact from fiction when doing so. Unfortunately some on this board are very close-minded and already dismiss some possibilities / ideas without giving them a fair chance. Not really something that makes me want to 'demonstrate' anything to my audience at that point. No offence...

Also, keep in mind that I did not say microwave ovens ARE bad. I said I deem the chance they are highly likely. Big difference. This alone should have shown people that I don't just take any answer for granted. But like I said, I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it.

Let me conclude by saying that I don't think I'm all-knowing. But I do know I read and thought a lot about food and food related things over the past few years. For good reason. That for one should count for something me thinks...

-Microwaves: I dont have scientific backing, but I really would rather not eat from a microwave. I believe any waves(including wifi and radio) is affecting our health and we don't know it. Maybe it happens over a long period of time 30 years? I still cant accept how a dish is heated so fast in couple of minutes...

-Healthy cooking: Sandwiches is a good example for a healthy quick meal, I should eat more of those. But what else can you cook that fast?
I looked into protein sources, I never saw eggs as one of them!
it was meats, nuts, and beans mostly.

And why is every1 eating so many bananas?

-Protein shake question: they say the body cant take more than 40g of protein a day, so if i get that from my protein shake, its no use eating other protein sources like meats?

-I really like Scooby's website, I knew him from youtube. I feel he is pretty honest, i just dont agree that he says u should never eat any junk food. While i believe its better if you do not, but he makes it seem like the end of the world if u had a burger or cola...i dont think 1 mcdonalds meal per month will affect ur health

First thing that I thought. I was actually rather disappointed to check the thread and see it wasn't about semen.

Jokes aside, semen is honestly supposed to be a good way to get protein. Plus it's natural and comes with the added bonus of making someone feel very good.

When it comes to taking care of your body and being healthy, I am one of those old fashioned types who sticks to good ol' diet and exercise.

True story, I am actually a rather big fan of exercise games on the Wii. There is a company callled Rocket Company that has been making some really good ones. Shape Boxing 2 and Billy's Boot Camp are not only very fun but they are great exercise.

Not only that, but I just don't like the taste of microwaved food. Everything tastes the same if you microwave it. Really weird. Surely I'm not the only one thinking food from the microwave tastes different than traditionally prepared food?...

I for one am eating them because the paleo diet is a low carb diet, since you cannot eat neither grains (bread, pasta, rice,...) nor potatoes. So where in most diets you have to really look out not to eat too many carbs, the opposite is true for a paleo diet. Bananas are high in carbs...

In a paleo diet you can eat meat, fish, veggies, fruit, nuts, seeds and berries. No milk in any form, grains, potatoes, legumes and processed food.

The healthiest diet to lose weight if you ask me. But personally I don't do it for the weight loss since I'm already thin. I'm doing it to eat healthier.

Pro athletes should however be able to add some extra carbs in the form of potatoes / sweet potatoes if necessary. They are no paleo food, but they are not as bad as grains I think. I could be wrong though...

that's 40g of protein per sitting. for people that lift seriously the general rule is a 1g/lb of your bodyweight a day.
