Sort of, at least. It required that you know your way around an emulator well enough to patch it.

I was excited about this at the time and I was downloading all kinds of crap to get my computer to run it, but it was having all kinds of compatibility issues and I could never get the damn thing patched and running. I eventually gave up and moved on to something else. So, I was very happy to find this link recently that leads you to a pre-patched English version that has all that dirty work already done for you.

If you've missed out on this great Kojima classic, now's the time to play it because it's a lot more accessible now.
I bought the Import a few years ago remembering, was emwearz posting about it? A long continuous slide show in Kanji, got bored with it. The opening theme is unique though.

Thanks J T for the English Patched link, got both discs burned, will give it a go tonight. The burned discs fit nicely in the original Fat Jewel Case. There is one spare holder so the two CDRs get stacked there.

Nyco Trackball and Mouse Supported on the PS1! 8) 8)

Found the pic above. :?

Edit
Snatcher looks to be a homebrew over to the DS. Has anyone played the PS1 version?

Game works great on a chipped PS1. Japanese voices with fully translated English subtitles. Its no Kurosawa, but not too bad. This is definitely an old school graphic Adventure. Hit all the questions to move the game along, kind of like an interactive book or slide show movie.

To play Policenauts, the PS1 a Mouse or the Nyco Trackball is the way to go. So much easier moving the pointer. CLICK EVERYTHING. Also be sure to set the sensitivity all the way up for the basic "Time Crisis" gun shooting levels. I am now in the Beyond and at the shooting range with Ed. No idea what the half leaf is about.

Hardcore gaming has a great review:

Ooh, thanks for posting this convenient link. Just lately I started playing Snatcher on an emulator. The gameplay is really formulaic, but the setting is so nuanced it sucked me right in. Only thing I can really compare it to might be Metroid Prime, with all the chozo lore and space pirate data logs you can read. I just got lost reading about the world and all the details in it.

Definitely check it out. It's full on Snatcher in RPG form. Honestly I'm surprised it's not talked about more. You probably already know, but, it's got an English translation patch too.

I plan to play it whenever I get my hands on a Sega CD (Mega CD) and play Snatcher through, I have finished Policenauts and it is up there as one of the best pieces of story telling in a video game, so I have been really hanging out for Snatcher, but I would prefer to play it on original hardware and no emulation, I will most likely end up playing it through on my xbox or something, since my chances of finding a decent priced Sega CD are slim.

What consoles have Sega CD emulators other than the Xbox?

Picodrive on the PSP emulates the Sega CD really well. Not sure about other consoles, though.

Just finished playing through Policenauts recently... definitely one of the best games/stories i've ever played through.

SD Snatcher is actually a different game all together. It's a recreation of the original Snatcher with SD graphics and new RPG-esque gameplay. It's also the first version of Snatcher to feature the ending that everyone is familiar with in the PCE and Sega CD games.
