From what I understand the PSP is best on graphics (although it is up to taste, the 3D ones probably don't suit the game nearly as much), content and perhaps being more faithful to the SNES original, but the DS could arguably have the upper hand on script, something to do with the party or the skills (never played it so I didn't understand exactly) and difficulty balance.
Those 3 "advantages" of the DS could also be considered further disadvantages depending on taste.
I'm inclined toward the PSP, personally, as I never played it... But I get the impression that for someone that already played the original, the DS version may feel fresher with more gameplay differences, improved (?) script and improved (?) difficulty balance?
