totally different games. The original is great, but really really hard man. I have a soft spot for it, but it's brutal. The new game, to be frank, is... heart-warming? I mean, there's a HUG BUTTON! If you want to play a game that makes you smile, play this. I'm trying to find a copy for my wife actually.

probably just testing the waters though. WayForward has always been very primarily a handheld dev. They've done almost exclusively GBC, GBA and DS titles. So the jump to consoles has been careful. Like I said, they did do a Boy And His Blob for Wii, but I'm guessing they didn't want to gamble their first PS3/360 release with a bigger physical budget. HOPEFULLY if we all buy the PSN game, they'll release a physical copy eventually.
You know, it wouldn't shock me too if there was some silly SOA rule that a strictly 2D game is download only.

Nice! Visually it looks beautiful on the Wii! I noticed while researching it on allgame.com that they were going to make a GBA version of A Boy and his Blob game (Jelly's Cosmic Adventure) but it was canceled? Too bad, looks like it could have been promising! :( I think I'm going to p/u this Wii game though. Thanks bro! 8)
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

yeah the GBA version was gonna be Majesco... so it could've gone either way.

Not strictly. The backgrounds have 3D stuff going on.

Looks great! XBLA is a treasure trove when it comes to retro-inspired games.

Wow, not often you see a 2D game where enemies affect each other (knocking one into another).
