Saturn doesn't even spin cds...

Post by carlosesca07 »

It's been a long time since I last used my saturn, it's in good condition, not to much dust or anything, yet I doesn't work anymore; it doesn't read CDs , because they don't even spin......is this a problem of the cd rotor or something else?

thanks!

Probably the DC motor.... you can test the contacts with a continuity tester (hardware store, metal pen like thing with a light on the end for like 4 bucks. At least you'll know what's getting current, right?

Laser pot (variable resister) needs adjusted. (and prolly a bigger adjustment than normal)
What happins is the laser is so weak it does not even recognize there is a disc inserted, so it doesnt spin it.
