Buying a New Graphics Card

I'm going to pick The Witcher 2 up as soon as I finish the first one (playing it now), but I wonder how it would run on my system:

AMD Phenom II X4 820 Processor 2.80 GHz
8 gb ram
geforce 9800 gt

I'm guessing I probably need a new graphics card. I'd like to get a card that will last at least a year as far as being able to play current games. I'm looking at getting a geforce 560 gtx. Would that alone be enough or should I think about dual cards or spending more than the $200-250 for the 560?

Actually, it should run fine. I built my computer 4 years ago and I haven't had any problems running The Witcher 2. Intel Duo, 4 GB RAM, 8800 GTS 640 MB.

I agree with MrPopo, you should be fine with that setup. If you do want more horsepower, maybe get a Radeon HD 6xxx card?

Well I was getting pretty poor performance (30FPS average dipping with intense scenes) even on Medium with my Q6600 @ 3.5GHz, 4GB RAM and a HD4870. I've since upgraded to a HD6950 2GB and I have zero issues on High settings. It's even better since they removed the DRM (I have the retail version).

HOWEVER. I'm running 1920x1200. I need a lot of horsepower to drive this screen. If you have a little tiny screen you can probably run most things on high with more than satisfactory FPS. We really need to know your screen resolution.

Yeah, resolution is the single biggest thing that impacts performance, since it grows by the square. My screen's 1360x768, so I can get good performance on it.
