I think, after the Amiga I have all the hardware I really want. Maybe would pick up a Tandy CoCo or ZX spectrum if I found one for cheap, but those are pretty niche. The Amiga is really the only glaring hole in my hardware collection.
What games or game systems have eluded you?

Amiga. Even bought one in the last charity auction, but dude dropped off the face of the earth.
No prob, it's charity anyway. Wish I had $200 for that CD32 on the front page right now. Although, I'd prefer the computer to the console.

Re: What games or game systems have eluded you?
A CIB copy of the Korean version of Sonic 2. For awhile I never saw it at all. Then one day after being in Korea maybe 4 months I saw a boxed copy sitting on the shelf, but was told it was only for display and wasn't being sold. Some time passed and no more signs of it. About 2 months ago, I looked a little more carefully at a place that has tons of bare cartridges and found a loose copy of it.
I asked one seller I met online and he also noted that he hadn't seen it. Another foreigner (on another forum) that had lived in Seoul said someone told him that around the time when Sonic 2 was released there was some break down in communication between Sega and Samsung so there was limited supply. I don't know how much truth there is to that, but while doing some searches in Korean I came across a blog where a guy was showcasing his copy that he had recently received for free from another member online. It sounded like the game had been eluding him as well.
I am on the various gaming sites throughout the day just waiting and then 2 weeks ago I took a weekend trip. It was that weekend that someone sold a few Mega Drive games I hadn't yet found, of which included just the box of Sonic 2 being given away to whoever bought the other games.
The search continues

Pretty much anything that wasn't extremely popular here. I check Goodwills and thrift shops all the time but It's hard to find anything but NES, Genesis, PS1, and PS2 games.

I've been looking for a copy of ICO for years. I've only seen one copy, which was on the counter at a used game store, I grabbed it and brought it to the guy behind the counter - cash in hand, only to be told that it had already sold on Amazon.
Also can't seem to find a 60-72 pin converter anywhere. I have hundreds of NES carts laying around and scoured all of the old carts at every store in a 100 mile radius and haven't found a single one.
As for things that i've found - I got Secret of Mana boxed and EVO CIB and Breath of Fire IV CIB for $3.99 each at a local video rental place several years ago, Crono Trigger for $5 at a rummage sale. Picked up a lot of Nintendos from Goodwill and found Rainbow Islands, Bubble Bobble, and Fire And Ice in them. Also picked up Princess Tomato boxed at a used game store for $20 about a year ago.

Wow, I didn't even realize Future Cop was hard to find. I've had my eye out for it for a while, I had the demo when I was younger and played the crap out of the demo. I just figured it was due to my area not exactly being collector friendly was why I couldn't find it.Droid party wrote:For the longest time I couldn't find Future cop but I got it late last year. Same here. I just picked it up from this site 2 weeks ago for a good price. I've been trying to get it for ages. I just started playing it last night. So far so good.SpoonyBard wrote:I've been looking for a copy of ICO for years. A friend had it and it was really fun. I've seen one copy since and for some reason passed on it.BurningDoom wrote:Wow, I didn't even realize Future Cop was hard to find. Re: What games or game systems have eluded you?
I've been trying to hunt down a copy of phantasy star online1 +2 for the DC for a while now. It pops up on ebay, but for some reason the auctions that I keep an eye on go for $20 a piece meanwhile the ones I mentally lapse on go for less than $10.
