SegaSaturn laser

Post by RyaNtheSlayA »

Hi im just curious, is my Saturns laser failing, cause my copy of TombRaider is fairly scratched but it runs on the emulator on my pc which has a normal CD-R drive but reads it just fine. Also my Saturn detects the music tracks but it wont let me start the game. I hope its not the laser as i got my Saturn brand new 2 years ago. :(

Have you tried any other discs in it? Do any others fail?

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

yes, no other disks fail but i bought them brand new on ebay and told them to take off the wrap and put in some bubble rap so they wouldnt fly out in those big cases, so none of them have a single scratch or scuff on them.

Well just for the record. The Sega Saturn Lens is more than likely older than you pc laser lens. what you could try is the old chap stick trick on the cd. hell you could also try to use the Disc Doctor system. Its worked on an import of Rockman that was scratched the hell up.

Since you say other games play fine and the TR disc is scratched why would you say the laser lens is at fault? Have the TR disc resurfaced and it will likely work fine again.
