Breetai's friend

Post by Breetai »

Hey, I've got a friend! Haha, like many of you, I'm not the only one of my friends to have a lot of gaming stuff. One of my good friends from way back has a decent collection. Not all of it is hooked up, and some of it is stored in boxes, but here's what he's got going at the moment:
Image

Hooked up and sitting by the TV:
SNES model 2
N64 Gold
Wii (in the cupboard)
Game Boy original
Game Boy Color
Game Boy Advance
DS original
Master System
Genesis model 1/Sega CD model 2
Saturn (Japanese model 2 modded, that I sold him about 10 years ago)
Dreamcast
Game Gear
3DO
Neo Geo CD
Neo Geo Pocket
PS2 (under the 3DO)
PS3 slim
X-Box 360 (in the cupboard)

Hooked up in his bedroom:
X-Box 360
3DO (why??? I don't know...)

Boxed up in a closet under his stairs:
NES (he has a few, but NONE are hooked up... why? no idea)
SNES (original model; I tried to tell him to hook this model up for s-video, but he couldn't be bothered)
N64 (original black colour)
Gamecube
Game Boy (a few originals... not sure how many)
DS lite (he seems to have a few in every room of the house :D )
Genesis model 2 (he has a few of these, maybe 3-4 more)
32X
Dreamcast (again... he has probably 3-4 more. He just keeps buying them if they are made in early 2000 or 1999)
PS1
PS3 60GB
X-Box
X-Box 360 (he has a couple others just lying around in a closet. None are RRoD)

In other words, he has quite a bit of hardware. He probably gives the most love to the SNES, 3DO and 360. He even has freakin' SNES Ogre Battle! It's a rock solid SNES collection for sure. He also has quite a few games for the systems hooked up stored away in boxes, which is kind of lame. He has zero DC games and only one Saturn game. He just played burnt games all the time on those systems. I'm trying to get him to go legit... but he's not buying it. We play a fair bit of Twinkle Star Sprites (DC) and Windjammers (Neo Geo) together, so that's cool. He likes shoot 'em ups also. He's be an awesome fit to Racketboy, but he's not into using forums at all. He mostly just uses the internet for Facebook and WoW. I still need to talk him into getting a PC Engine or Turbographx system. Unfortunately, he's never seen one in the while and doesn't like to buy much stuff online. He just hits up pawn shops and garage sales.

He also has a stocked bar on the other end of the room, but I'm much too lazy to take photos of it. He also has a decent CRT, but can't be bothered to hook it up.

It's not the prettiest of set-ups, but it does the job. Hope you enjoyed seeing a non-Racketeer's game cave.

Yes, he does. I'm not planning to buy him one. :D

I had to look it up on google. :D Yes, he does have one. I just kind of ignore it.

Yeah, he does need new knowledge. Perhaps he should talk to Henry. They might end up as good friends!

Where by chance did he pickup that shelf that seems to hold SNES games perfectly? That's what caught my eye, heh.

Wal-Mart in the mid-90s. Those are three shelves. They hold 21 games each, I believe. He has a few more with other games (mostly sports games and dups) packed away.
They are specially made plastic shelves for SNES games. There are also ones for 2600, NES and Genesis games that I've seen before.
