Final Fantasy Type-0 (Agito) Trailer - Looking pretty good!

Post by Czernobog »

Apparently Squenix decided to change the name of the game from Agito XIII to Type-0 but this is the same PSP game that's been in development.

The trailer picks up a lot in the second half. The first part is a bit slow and might turn people off but it gets pretty intense.

I think this is graphically speaking the most violent Final Fantasy game there's been. It's got that "small but determined group hit by tragedy now resisting an imposing and overwhelming force" vibe reminiscent of earlier FF games and that's peaking my interest. Like the versus XIII trailer I posted a little while back, I'm very much looking forward to trying this game.

Apparently it's going to span acrooss two UMD's instead of being on one. I'm not sure if that's been done before now that I think about it.

Really? That's kinda cool actually. I'm pretty sure that's never happened before.

Of course, this is Final Fantasy. You know its only on multiple discs because its full of FMVs.

Type-0 sounds just as dumb and pompous as Agito XIII.

That aside, this looks pretty damn fun and almost like it could be a good dungeon crawler. I think this and Versus are probably going to tear up XIII.

The gameplay and FMVs scenes remind me of FFXII. Personally I loved that game :D. This looks good. I hope they port it to the 3DS, cause I sold my PSP

I agree, although I personally liked XIII and think it gets a lot of negative rap because of it being so radically departed from earlier Final Fantasy gameplay. I also think it's considered popular to bash it due to a lot of popular internet critics bashing the game. I did see your earlier post (on Versus thread I think) about your personal reasons for disliking the game though and do consider them totally valid. I never pay much for new games because I prefer to wait for them to go way down in price. Personally it's nowhere near my favorite Final Fantasy game, but it's still a game I genuinely enjoyed playing.

I also really liked Final Fantasy XII, aside from Vaan and Penelo being shoehorned into a story that I thought really had virtually nothing to do with them. It does look like the story (based on the cutscenes) may have more fierce emotions driving it forward in this game though and that could make for some interesting characters and hopefully good development.

Me either, I even tried Googling it. I guess this is the first time it's been necessary, but as CFFJR said it might just be full of lengthy scenes (although I sure didn't mind that in MGS4 - and I doubt I'll see a game coming anywhere near those lengths on a handheld.)
