I don't think I've tried at all in a week. Though I've meant to. I'd like to hit 100k.dsheinem wrote:Have you (or anyone else who posted a score a couple of weeks ago) taken another serious crack at the game?noiseredux wrote:UPDATED.

Re: Together Retro: Zoop
I started recording some of my play per a discussion with Ivo, and thought I'd throw one clip up here for people to see. Here's a run slightly over 200K (with no clear reached before the end). Maybe seeing this can give a few of you some pointers.
I really want to hit 300K before month's end, but we shall see...

Got this score about two minutes ago. Before that, I hadn't played the game in days.
I get grumpy with it, because I feel like there's a lot of luck involved...
There's still a few days left in the month though.

I have the GBC port... aww. Is it honestly that much worse than console ports?
Re: Together Retro: Zoop
Gave it another go. 176,600. I still don't know what the special objects do in this game.
(there is a gear, a bell, a spring, and maybe something I am forgetting.)

I'm playing as we speak, but I haven't been able to break this so far after 4 attempts. It may go up again, or I may throw the game out the window, we'll see.

UPDATED
That being said, I really REALLY want Ivo to get a hold of a legit copy of this game so he can submit to Twin Galaxies. He really, really deserves to be on that leaderboard. I can't explain it but it just seems this game makes sense to him big time.
@Ivo: Have you found a copy somewhere? Online? Are you short on cash? Jeez, maybe some of us could paypal loan you a couple bucks to help you secure a copy?
I think I felt the same way until about 2 mins ago. I watched a video of Ivo playing, and he got a score that he hasn't submitted to the thread yet, but it's.... really impressive guys. And watching this video made it quite clear to me that luck is minimal. He really obviously knows what he's doing at every moment. And he plays... "dangerously" if that makes sense? It's just so not how I play. But wow, it shows exactly why he's getting such high scores. He just seems to be moving around so much faster than my brain is thinking about what his next move should be. It's amazing.CFFJR wrote: I get grumpy with it, because I feel like there's a lot of luck involved...

Watching Dsheinem's video helped me change my approach, and you can see what that did for my score.
If Ivo's score is that great, then I agree he needs a real copy of the game, even if we have to get it for him.
Do you know when he's going to tell us his new score? I'm painfully curious now.
EDIT: 100,500
Sorry about my constant updates today noise... I'm stopping now.
