I couldn't agree more. Personally, I firmly believe in the rapture (yes, I'm one of those weirdos) but as the Bible tells us... ^ I'm not amazed at theologians and even so-called persuasive Bible scholars who seem to be in the dark concerning the scriptures.

Romans 10:2-3
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

I agree with your sentiment, but I don't believe that scripture passage applies here at all. Paul is talking about a very specific group of people here.
