Motorstorm fans?
Re: Motorstorm fans?
Got 1st in every race on the first game. Still haven't bought Pacific Rift, Arctic Edge or Apocalypse yet though. I hear Apocalypse cuts the difficulty down to a more reasonable level. Can anyone confirm?

I'm not sold on the series. I find the controls hamper a lot of fun that could be had. Far too sensitive. The game plays like an arcade racer, it should control like one too, not a sim. :p

Motorstorm is as far away from the sim category as Sega Rally is. Quick controls don't equal simulation controls. The cars handle nothing like they would in real life.irixith wrote:I'm not sold on the series. I find the controls hamper a lot of fun that could be had. Far too sensitive. Older. Not wiser.

True, but the controls are sensitive like a sim. If I accidentally touch left on the analogue stick, I don't need to be careening around in a 180 and slamming into a wall.
That just isn't fun.

I've only played Arctic Edge on the PS2, but my impression was similar to irixith's. I thought the controls were too loose for an arcade racer. I also thought the graphics were too blurry (which may be a port problem). It wasn't a bad game. It was pretty fun, but for the PS2 I don't think it holds up to the ATV Offroad series.
