It seems to me you find every game to be overrated. Is anything rated as you expected?
To the OP, if you don't like the game style, which to me was reminiscent of the Tomb Raider series, plus a better story, then you should stop playing, it doesn't change in gameplay that much between the two games. If you're not having any fun, play something else, you only have so much time to devote to gaming. That's my opinion anyway.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

Right, because it's not like I have ever praised anything on this board

I apologize, it just seems to me it always is the games I like. I shouldn't have said anything I do appreciate that all of your posts seem well thought out.

It's cool, I understand. I got a little heated recently when dsheinen bashed the Scott Pilgrim movie because it's a movie that I liked. It happens. Someone says they weren't impressed by something you enjoy and you're like, "is that guy insane?!"

For the record, I also love the Uncharted games and consider Uncharted 2 to be easily amongst the very best games released this gen.
I really enjoyed the first one, but, from what I've tried of the second one it feels a bit different. I can't put my finger on it but the controls felt more... floaty? It may just be in my head.
I bought my ps3 used and it came with Uncharted 2. I played it since it was the only game I had at the time and also heard very positive reviews. I can say it was probably one of the best games I played in the last 5 years or so. Just the overall quality was superb, great characters, great story, and the whole thing flowed so smoothly in my opinion. After that I went out and bought the first one. I barely made it 2 hours into the first one before I got bored.
Despite them being roughly the same game, Uncharted 2 just feels 100x more polished to me.
The story picks up a little, but like others have said, Uncharted 2 is where the hype really is. If you dont like the first one, you probably won't like the 2nd though. Its my personal favorite though.
I got about halfway through the first- liked the platforming, disliked the random inclusion of gimmicks such as using the sixaxis tilt sensor to balance when crossing planks, and the vehicle bits (at least the watercraft one). Combat was a bit of a pain- an area would have seven or eight waves of enemies just flood at you, and after a while it became a chore- just "oh look, twelve more dudes- let me go shoot them some more." When a game can make tearing through an island worth of mercenaries like you're Rambo on meth a chore, there's a problem.
