Agreed!

Also, I feel like most all of the comic book cartoons of the 90's kicked ass! TMNT, Batman: The Animated Series, X-Men, and yeah - even Spiderman..

You can watch the first season for free on Hulu. (Or at least you could, I haven't tried doing so in several months.)

Yeah, they did. It's sad. Season 6 of Spongebob is so bad, it's like a completely different show next to season 2 or 3.

Only the first one. The 2nd and 3rd one were really funny ( loved this scene   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PNT1LVZkNc ).

I believe there have been plenty of cartoons based on the comics, so something original as a live action movie would be nice to try. Mind you, Lucky Luke is perhaps the easiest of the French mainstream comics to adapt to live action (it's a comedy Western, how hard can it be?), and yet they have tried it again and again, and failed miserable every time :(

For a Westerned animated thread, I am surprised no one mentioned Looney Tunes, Popeye, Tom & Jerry, Disney or anything from what I like to call the "Golden Age" of Western animation.

It's because they're a given :)

Everyone knows and agrees on how good those are.

I'm with you on Phineas and Ferb, that stuff is hilarious. I always liked The Tick and Invader Zim too. I'm with all the votes for Samurai Jack as well.

On the movie front, I recently really enjoyed Tangled and How to Train Your Dragon and hated The Princess and the Frog.

It's a crime how the last season or so of Animaniacs never got a DVD release. It was only getting better with each season.
