I personally do not agree and I'm inclined to think he would not agree either :)
I have a hard time agreeing with statements in absolute terms so the everyone loses me. Although as you do state "trying to be different" so I think you are more correct than if you just said everyone who is different is still trying to be a part of a group. If they are "being different on purpose" rather than just being, there is very likely some kind of reason for that.

The rest of your post is mostly stellar though, good going Luke.

Happy birthday man. You are getting older, but everyone is, all the time, and we should not mind that as much as some people mind it. It is part of life just like the rest of the stuff.

Look at all you people, spewing illogical bullshit in an attempt to argue against Inazuma again.

It is not illogical (it may be bullshit though ;) ), and we are having a good time, thank you very much!

Happy birthday man.

Ivo.
Thanks and thanks!

Wish I had more time to chat with you guys, no matter what the conversation may be. I try to adhere to my "555 rule" (55 minutes of focus on work, then 5 minutes on relaxing) and it's hard to post much in five minutes spans if I want to post anything of value, but I try.

Now I'm hijacking here, but holy shit, I forgot I had a birthday coming. It did not register.

My wife asked on Tuesday, "What do you want to do for your birthday?" and I was floored. Call me Alicia Silverstone (wait, don't) cause I was clueless. It's not that I didn't know May 20th was coming, it is just I've begun to be one of those time management guys and my calendar is booked with meetings, and not one mention of my birthday. Kind of makes me feel dumb, but it also shows my dedication to my career. What was I saying?

Oh yeah. Birthday.

It's this Friday, and I don't have squat planned and my wife couldn't throw a party better than she could a frisbee, so I'm reaching for ideas. If you have any suggestions, send them my way, but come hell or high water there WILL be a balloon on my mailbox.

I can think less of men who have sex with other men. That doesn't make me any less of a dick. 8)
If anything you should have more respect for a man who fucks other men. 'Cause y'know, they're fucking men. Not a soft nice woman - that's easy. Men who fuck other men are more of a man than men who fuck girls.

If someone thinks for themselves and wants to wear or not wear anything because they found a good logical reason for it, I'm fine with that.

My main problem is being forced to wear something for some bullshit reason. The vast majority of the time people wear fancy clothes is because of tradition or because someone demanded they wear it.

People don't typically choose to wear fancy clothes just to hang around the house and relax. They wear them out of obligation or for so they can be viewed highly by others out of ignorance. That's when I will lose respect for and think less of you. But no matter what I think, I wouldn't demand someone to wear or not wear something, unless it was somehow harming others. For example, someone who has STD's and they are out in public, nude.

Sounds to me like what you need most is some unstructured free time.

So what do you think of private schools that have a uniform code? Personally, I think it's a great idea. Kids all dress the same so they can focus on their activities/school work and less on their appearance or what fancy stuff they're wearing.

I don't like being forced to wear something, so I don't like the idea of school uniforms. However, at least there is some kind of logical reasoning behind it so it's not that horrible.

Same idea with employees at a store wearing the same uniform. That is so customers can tell them apart from other customers.

But with all of these forced uniforms, while they do have some kind of logical reason behind them which is good, it is also important that they are comfortable and practical.

I actually went to a private school that had uniforms. Generally speaking the uniforms weren't too bad but we had to tuck in our shirts, along with wearing pants on certain days and shorts on others. There were days that were cold, but we had to wear shorts regardless, and vice versa. The girls had to wear skirts everyday regardless of how cold it was.

I'm sorry, I have to say that I keep hearing this as the reason people like uniforms, but I find it stupid. If that's the way we want the world to work, how about building all houses after one model (and there 10 different sizes of it, depending on your income). That way no one feels offended if the other guy bought a better designed house. It's not like personal taste is an important way of expressing yourself.

If the kid wants to be a goth, let him be a goth and ect.
