I think I might try to learn to use an arcade stick for fighters. Even with the fighting pad my left thumb is a bit sore after two nights of extended fighting.

I have one of those saturn usb pads (the real one, not a crappy knock off) and I love it. Maybe you can look into that as well?

oh I find my PS2 SF2 pad really comfortable actually. I use it on my PS3 via RemoteJoy. And I have a PS3 SF4 pad as well, but had to send it to MadCatz for an exchange cuz the dongle was f'd up. The problem is really just that my thumbs hyperextend, so really any controller where I'm using my thumb is gonna bother me if I'm playing for a really long time like that.

I have a great arcade stick, I just don't use it for anything other than shmups. But I just figured maybe I'd try and see if I could get the hang of it that way.

Ah, okay. The only arcade stick I have is the agetec one for the dreamcast and I just can't get into it for fighters except MK Gold. Feels too weird after years of using a the ascii fight pad.
