Sega CD model 1 wont turn on.....

Yeah title says it all. I'm think Blown power fuse, but I cant seem to find anything that looks like a fuse inside..........

Anyone else have this problem?

a couple things could cause this.

Make sure the genny and sega CD are tightly and properly connected.

Make sure both power bricks are working and sending power to the two consoles.

Make sure that connection is also clean.

Also if you have a mem card in the genny, take it out and try.

If this all fails then there could be a number of problems in the console. There is a fuse you are referring too that could possibly be it... but you don't know for sure. It could be a number of things in there.

Probably a fuse. Worst case scenario, sell it as a broken Sega CD. It can obviously(most likely) be repaired.

My older brother got a Sega CD and the thing died within a year of him having it. Kept it on the rug for long gameplay sessions, might be why. Wish he kept it..probably could have fixed the thing.

I had the same problem with my Sega CD Model 2 and replaced the fuse with very little soldering experience. None at all. it works now.

its inside towards the rear near the bottom on the power and sound PCB

its a barrel fuse

if my memory serves me right that is
