The other way is by the color: all of the pearl colors (pearl blue, pink, and black) were AGS-101. I got both of mine (pearl blue) off Craigslist via the color. I would confirm by asking for the model number.Xelyx wrote:Thanks. I had actually just found it on Wikipedia. Mine's an AGS-101.CRTGAMER wrote:Just look at the model numbers of the GBA SP.

I believe the black version AGS-101 is called "Graphite".gtmtnbiker wrote:The other way is by the color: all of the pearl colors (pearl blue, pink, and black) were AGS-101. I'm pretty sure that is the exact one I have
Re: GBA differences
The front lit version is nice if you want to get a front lit GBC. Just rip the light out of it and put it into the GBC.

Game Boy Player you also have the option of playing via component if you're lucky enough to find a Gamecube Component cable.

Re: GBA differences
I found some from Gamestop for $5 about 6 months ago. I plan to use my Game Boy Player primarily to replay some GB, GBC, and GBA games, but I want to have that best portable option too. I wonder if the progressive scan with the GBP makes a big difference though. I guess just less messing with the signal.
Re: GBA differences
I'd be suprised if Gamestop would have a GBA. I would stick with ebay and amazon and be patient for the right price. Check half.com too.
