Fan Remake of Metroid II

Post by racketboy »

Behold:

I can't believe Nintendo hasn't cashed in by doing a remake of Metroid II.
Do they intend for it to stay on the Gameboy forever?

Glory, amen.
Let my legs shake me to sleep, and don't wake me when I sweat on my sheets.

I'm pretty hyped for this. I have a sweet spot for Metroid 2. I really wish someone could do a simple control hack for Super Metroid to make it play like Zero Mission. Specifically I want L to control both the up and the down diagonal aiming, and I want auto-run. I never liked holding the button to run, on top of managing jumping and shooting. I could live without the ledge grabbing, because that would make some puzzles easily solvable.

I feel so lazy when I think about all the work this guy must've put into this..
It looks absolutely beautiful.
Hope Nintendo don't pull the plug on it *crosses fingers*.

Well all this blog attention sure isn't helping keep it a secret.

You would think that fan-projects like this would just be kept in secret until completed. We'd have Chrono Ressurection if they didn't speak a word of it until they finished it. Once it gets released, who cares if the site gets shut down? File-sharing takes care of the rest.

That's exactly what I was thinking, why make a trailer if it's going to jepoardize 3 years of work? :/
If I was him and Nintendo shut me down, I'd be sure as hell pissed off..

I hope they can make the game a bit more difficult and alot longer too, this is the shortest and easiest Metroid out there.

Sweet gameplay vid (complete with some Stemage ownage), let's hope it surfaces before Nintendo can do anything about it.
