I thought Nintendo was above what Apple does.

The user content thing is just insane.

How is this different from the Wii? If you modify your Wii then an update might break it. They're just explicitly calling it out that if you mod your system then it probably will break and they're not going to fix it for free.

What bothers me in particular is the user content thing, and that they claim ownership and the right to use anything you might have on the system, like your pictures.

Is that something you're REALLY concerned about? Honestly? How about all the pictures up in your Facebook (or whatever the devil it is the kids use these days). You don't think those aren't blasted around for everyone to see? Is it just the general ooginess of the loosening of barriers that's taking place thanks to the internet?

Indeed, as well as updating without asking and uploading content that they then claim to 'own'.
