^This.

They hold a large share of the specialty market, but as a whole there are a lot less GameStops than there are HH-Greggs, Electronic FRY's, Best Buys, K-Marts, Wal-Marts, Targets, Toys 'R Us, Kay-Bee Toys, Sears, movie rental places that sell and rent games, grocery stores that sell shitty shovelware, etc... etc...
Not in my area. There's 4 Gamestops within 10 miles of me. But only 1 or none of the rest you mentioned. Well, except Wal-Mart, there's 2 of them and their both Super Wal-Marts with a Grocery Store, fast food restaurant, salon, pharmacy, greenhouse, and bank inside of them. Wal-Mart is getting crazy, it's like a self-sustaining city.

I think Gamestop has over saturated the market, I mean four Gamestops within two miles! Not a Monopoly but the only big gaming specialized store around. Only One struggling Play N Trade compared to over Twenty Gamestops in the city! Competetion is always good, I hope Play N Trade survives. They keep COMPLETE GAMES, even the cheap ones.

The Good
I mentioned earlier about regular and special edition games having the SKU and Price. One iof the great hidden deals to get that rare special edition cheap! I have been keeping an eye out for the Red Cover Existence Metal Gear for a while, one day might get lucky. :D

The Bad
In trying to find a used Wii component cable, the Nintendo brand and 3rd parties are all twenty bucks. Brand new 3rd party cables are twenty bucks! Don't know why Gamestop would sell a USED 3rd party cable for the same price as a new one. To think Gamestop also carried a five dollar Gamecube "Component" cable SKU. On a rare chance there might be a Wii cable in the bag, most of the time a SVideo cable. :x

The Ugly
Already mentioned the PS2 case toss, I don't think anything can be worse then that. Oh wait is there a new Nintendo coming out next year. We'll see if all the complaints will keep the Gamecube and Wii used games whole.

Not to be a dick but Gamestop isn't going to give two shits about anyone's complaints. They only care about bringing in the bucks. They could care less about whether or not throwing away game cases/manuals is right or wrong.

Because District Managers get audited on customer complaints. The truth of the matter is that if you complain to corporate and not at the store level, the DM has to somehow placate the customer. Don't belive me ask CRT who was given a giftcard and a few kind words.

I can tell you from working on the inside that BestBuy is starting a HUGE transformation of the gaming departments in all their stores next month. The departments are expanding and offering more services.

So is that why bestbuy shrunk their movie and music sections?

I know I know. But a lot of those 'services' are ridiculous, especially when they 'optimize' all their laptops and then tell you that they don't have any unoptimized ones so you'll just have to be a good little monkey and pay the $100 or whatever for something you didn't want. Paying someone $40 to put the new HD you just bought in your PC if you're a klutz? Fine. Pay someone $40 to plug your PS3 into the internet and push X 4 or 5 times to download updates (assuming you have high speed internet at home already)? Ridiculous.

I build my own PCs and generally don't shop at BB. But that doesn't mean the services aren't stupid and don't bilk money from those who don't know better or can't think critically. /rant
