@noise

if your getting NBA 2K12 later this year, then we can play some ball online.

I've heard nothing but bad things about the next gen 2k baseball games. I'd go with a version of "the show". I don't have a PS3, but "the show" series is the best baseball series on the PS2 and 09 or 10 are both pretty good for that.
The reason I'm interested in 2K is because we're playing World Series Baseball 95 for Together Retro in September, which makes me curious about this:
Like NBA 2K10, Major League Baseball 2K10 celebrates its 10th anniversary, going back to its Sega Dreamcast origins as World Series Baseball, though the series began in 1994 with the Sega Genesis release of World Series Baseball.
...though I'm not quite sure what that means. Haha.

I'm not sure about 12 yet -- I'm interested in 11 because of the Larry Bird, etc stuff you showed me...

but once 2k12 is release the online for 2k11 would be obsolete. beside i'm sure Bird and Mchale will show up again on the next release. :wink:

Well, I'm sure you can find a copy of World Series Baseball 95 for 50 cents or so before then. I think 2k10 might of been the first decent version of the series though, 2k7-2k9 are flawed and buggy from everything I've heard.

haha, I'm sure I can -- but the point of THIS thread is for me to look for a reason to pick one sports game over another. I know you're saying The Show is really good, but there's nothing to sell me on it... yet. :)

i guess its considered a sport game... Cabelas Dangerous Hunts 2011 was good. (i also played and beat 09)i opted to buy just the game (not the combo pack with the gun) cause it was alot cheaper, plus i planned on only playing it til i beat it then reselling. It gives u some good adreneline moments. I play any horror/scary/type games late at night in the dark for some added effect. The wolves really spook you lol So it does have a little fear factor to it. As some people think its not just an open hunt anymore theres actually a good story mode.

so far on my wanted list from this thread:

Madden 09 Collector's Edition - for the retro extra's and Head Coach.
Major Leage Baseball 2K10 - for reasons mentioned above.
NBA2K12 - because Larry Bird will be one of the covers, and I have my Celtics game covers collection, giving me and excuse to finally play some 2K online.

I wish there was a good PS3 volleyball game. Some of you (dsheinem) may laugh at that, but man I think arcadey beach volleyball games are a blast! Summer Heat on PS2 and Beach Spikers on GCN are both excellent games.

actually if anyone can find me a complete copy of that Madden 09 boxset, it's only $7 at Gamestop right now! None of my locals have it, but I'd gladly trade for something on my list. Link: http://www.gamestop.com/ps3/games/madde ... tion/70844
