Does anyone buy or collect these things? I've been collecting the older Nintendo Power and also the official guides they put out, and it kinda saddened me that they no longer print the guides themselves. It used to be they only printed the guides for select games, now it seems every game released gets a guide printed by Brady or Prima.
I like tracking down the official guides for the older games in my collection, but the completionist in me is really dreading buying a guide for every new game I buy. Are they actually any good or worth getting?

I also enjoy collecting guides, and have a sizable collection of them as of now. I have some really rare ones, too, like Persona 3&4, Dragon Warrior I&II, Tales of Symphonia, all 4 guides from the "Xeno" series, and Tales of Destiny II/Eternia.
Re: BradyGames/Prima
GameFAQs really killed the need for strategy guides. They generally have everything in the guide and more. If I see someone on the forums selling old guides for games I own on the cheap I'll pick them up, but I'd never buy one at the cover price.

I kind of want to start collecting them, but only if I find them cheap. I have a pretty beat up FFVII one right now. That's about it.
Re: BradyGames/Prima
I think that I am going to collect these as well, for the games I own at least. Does each game usually have a guide from both Brady and Prima or are they usually exclusive? Does anyone know if there's much of a difference in the quality between the two?

Brady produced a ton of rpg strategy guides for squaresoft releases such as the final fantasy series, brave fencer musashi, or xenogears. I think the content and art is much better than the prima series.

I own a Brady Kingdom Hearts 2 guide and a Piggyback Final Fantasy XII guide. The difference in quality is enormous. I've used them both about the same amount and yet the Brady one has almost every page in the first half of the book falling out. The Piggyback one is in perfect condition.
