Jade Empire & KOTOR Question

Post by darthmunky »

Both of these games were released on Xbox and PC. Are there any differences between the PC and Xbox versions?

KOTOR plays better overall on PC. I found that the backwards compatibility issues on the 360 made Knights unplayable.

Playing on a 360 and oXbox, the load times were significant. Get it on pc if possible.

AFAIK, the game content is the same on PC and Xbox.

The Xbox version of KOTOR has a nasty save bug that prevents you from being able to continue at a certain point. My brother ran into it when he played, in addition to various save corrupting issues. They don't seem to exist on the PC version.

I've only played KOTOR on the PC years ago, and I loved it. Played flawlessly!

KOTOR on the PC had some nifty inventory duplicating bugs. I used them to cheat the second time through when I played the dark side. Seemed appropriate.

KOTOR PC also has an extra shop with some nice end game gear for you. As for Jade Empire, I'd say it plays better on the Xbox. It's very much a beat em up compared to KOTOR, so you're better off with a controller.

I would assume KOTOR runs better on a good PC, but I found it to be perfectly fine on the xbox, same with Jade.

My PC was garbage, and it ran fine on that.

I played KOTOR on PC in 2004. I had a Pentium 4, 1GB RAM, GeForce 5800 back then and it ran perfectly on highest settings. Any computer that came out in the last 3-4 years should be better than that, so you probably won't have to worry about PC specs much.

I found it extremely enjoyable on the PC. I did play it on the X-Box, but only for a few hours. It seemed fine. I didn't notice much difference except for less load times on the PC and a bit better graphics (mostly resolution). I believe you need a patch to run it in wide-screen.

I played through Jade Empire on the X-Box and found it very fun. I haven't tried it on the PC.
