I picked it up at launch, created a character (which took forever because I'm so indecisive -TOO MANY OPTIONS!!(I think I ended up looking like Fujin from MK!)), then killed the blacksmith/merchant(?) guy near the staircase while fucking around. I figured I was screwed. Am I? Do I need to start over? The process of creating another character discouraged me, plus I never play my PS3.
you dont need to start over there is another blacksmith in world 2'1. the one you killed ends up being useless any way so it doesn't really matter just dont kill the second one.
It's a pain to go to the second blacksmith for repairs, though.

zen is saying that starting a new character would put him off of playing. if it is that big of a deal creating a character going to see ed for repairs wouldn't be that bad. i never really needed repairs since i would always upgrade my weapons and just put on newer armor as i found it. unless you're in a new game plus repairs shouldnt be needed to much, or if you use that storm king sword that things got what 10 durability?

i actually just started a new game plus with a black character tendency and black world tendency on every level. fuck is this shit hard. controller breaking hard. i breezed through the first boss but everywhere else i go im just getting raped. crossing my fingers that ds is a little bit friendlier on new game plus.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I'm still not sure what I'll do however, as the bigger factor is actually my lack of desire to play on PS3. I hate to switch from PS3 to XBOX from one title to the next, but I realize they're mostly unrelated, so getting Dark Souls on 360 will definitely compel me to play more.

Do you have an XBox Live Gold account? And which controller do you prefer?

Hmm if they do add stuff (like that sixth world, the crumbled arch stone in the nexus) I may just have to get a gaming rig built. Also I would make my old roommate buy it just so I could troll him by telling him red eyed knights are the weakest enemy in the game

Edit I just woke up and thought it was demon souls you were talking about. Either way I'd still build a computer and troll him with bad advice.

one of these days I'm gonna have to play this series. You guys recommend Demon or Dark to start with? I know I'd find them interesting and cool, but at the same time all the difficulty talk makes me nervous that I'll rage quit.

I'm not sure if demon souls still has it's servers up but I think demon souls is a little bit easier. If you want I'd be down to help you through either game when you decide to start. I'd like to hear what Bruno says since I know he platinumed demons souls and I'm guessing dark as well.
