How to get PCE CD games to work on Xbox Mednefex-PCE emu?

I need some help running some PC Engine CD games I'd like to try on my modded Xbox.

The games I'd like to try are Mugen Senshi Valis, Urusei Yatsura Stay with you and Gradius II. I've downloaded these files, but probably is I'm not sure how to get them to play on the Xbox.

Valis comes in bin/cue format, Gradius in a cue/iso format, and Urusei Yatsura as four files: .cue, .ccd, .img, and .sub.

I've tried extracting these files and putting them in special folders and launching them with the emulator and none of them seem to work, in fact some of the files when I attempt to launch directly freeze/crash the Xbox.

So I got the idea of maybe burning the games to CD-Rs. That doesn't work either.

Could someone please point out to me what I need to do to get PC Engine CD games to work on the Xbox? Do I have to compile the games in a certain way with a certain program? I seem to recall reading that PCE games are really just audio cds with game data packed into a specially formulated sound file.

PLease help me figure out how to get games to run on the xbox without hassle and I'll be very grateful. Is Mednefex-PCE outdated and no longer the best PC Engine emulator on the Xbox? Should I try something else? Any help is much appreciated.

You're going to need to use a program like cddissect to change your format to iso/mp3 if you want to run them off the HDD. I'm not sure why your burnt CD-Rs won't work though.

the best format to use for medafenx-pce is iso/mp3/cue or bin/cue.
check your pm.

ok I'll try that. Does anyone have a working copy of cddissect? I did a google search, but can't seem to find any links that aren't dead. If anyone's got it, please email me the program at [email protected]. Thanks.

I can't seem to get cddissect running whatsoever. the program closes as soon as I launch it. I even tried dragging my entire CD drive icon over it and it still closes within a second.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm looking for playable versions of these two games:

Urusei Yatsura: Stay With You

I've tried downloading these from underground gamer, snesorama and edge emulation. No matter what I try I can't seem to get them playable.

i have uploaded mugan senshi valis for you in iso/mp3/cue format,download link in your pm box.

just make sure and select the valis mp3.cue file to play the game.
also bedor you play the game if you have a file explorer on your xbox dashboard then go into your E drive on your xbox hdd and look for the gamesaves folder and then look for the medafenx-pce folder and delete it.
as you have been trying different files for the same game it sometimes gives you sound problems when you eventually find the correct file format.
basically jsut delete that saves folder and load up your pc engine cd games again.

thank you VERY much this really helps! I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but could you do the same thing for Urusei Yatsura: Stay With You? Those are pretty much the only two PCE CD games I'm looking for. Thanks again.
