I bought this game not having a clue that it was a remake of Kirby's Adventure - so you can imagine my surprise when I suddenly realized I was playing a GBA version of one of the greatest platformers ever made!

This game is great but there are some things that irk me. I don't know if it's because of the remake or if I have those ol' rose tinted glasses on. I remember the levels being longer, the bosses being harder, and I definitely don't like how they changed the mini games.

But, all that aside, there is a lot to like about this game - the production value was very high and the little visual effects whenever Kirby has a new power are genius. Not as good as the NES original but a solid remake in every way.

Dead or Alive 2 - I'm kinda psyched for the soon to be released 3DS DoA, so I thought I'd pop in this game and start getting a feel for the game. As a veteran of Capcom fighters it is a real switch and I have not yet figured out this games 'groove' yet. I like the production values, though. This game is a DC release and yet its age does not show in the slightest. The game also has a cool atmosphere. I've only gone through the story mode a couple of times but I'll have to spend more time with this game to understand how to play it properly.

Gigawing - Wow. HARD. I'd love to lie and say I 1cc'd this game...but that would be an obvious lie.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Half-Life 2 is a great game, don't get me wrong. The atmosphere, the weapons, and the insane amount of epic moments make that true for sure. My only gripe with the game is that the story is a bit confusing. Granted, I've never played the original Half-Life, but some sort of recap would have been nice at the beginning of this game.

That being said, Half-Life 2 hooked me, and intrigued me enough to want to go back to play the first game. I plan on finishing up a few games that I've already started first, but I want to download Half-Life from Steam pretty soon.

Because Half-Life and Half-Life 2 are so far apart in time, you actually don't need to play the first one to get whats going on. Alyx is just a kid in part one, the reason your ages are so similar in part 2 is that Gordan was in some sort of 'space time' thing due to the Gman and thus didn't age in the 10-20 year gap between the first and second game.

They are greatly different games, with the first not aging nearly as well as the second, the big difference is 95% of the first game is played indoors (at Black Mesa) and far less puzzle orientated game play, I finished it earlier this year, and while a great game when it came out, you can feel its age regardless of which version (Source, Model packs, etc) because you are indoors the whole time.

That makes me thing of Goldeneye on the N64 for some reason.

I still want to play it eventually, but maybe I'll play Episodes 1 and 2 first.

I don't have nice lists like you guys, but I just beat Blast Wind on the Saturn for the first time.

I liked it, but I was really disappointed by the ridiculously easy difficulty. I beat it on my first try with 3 credits. That just shouldn't happen, ever. It's a great game otherwise, but I guess I should have put it on a harder difficulty...

It's still early enough in the year to get a good list going. It's amazing how fast it adds up, especially if you play mostly fighters like I do.

Not really. When I beat a game I just write down the date I did it on and then update this page every now and then with the name of the game and a blurb about what I thought about it. Takes all of 2 minutes. Most people just list the game and that takes even less time.

Thoughts on the Game(s)

This is a game I use to play a lot with my dad when I was younger, but I could never take credit as beating it, until I did it myself. While I was amazed how much I remembered, some of the puzzles were hard, my biggest problem was the timing based puzzles which you just rarely see in games anymore, so I wasn't even thinking on that plane.

Took me longer than I thought it would to finish, but the new 4.0 version has a new feature where it is impossible to use items out of order, meaning you don't have to jump back to the start if you forget something before going into an area, etc. You can still die, a lot.

Amazing how they pulled the art style off, it looks and plays with the same production values as KQ 5 and 6.

I might give the second one a shot sometime in the future, but for now I am all adventured out, well enough to want to jump into another Sierra adventure, even if a remake.
