I think if you ask me what is the funniest, I would say the U.S. version, if you ask me which one is a better series I would probably go for the British. They are actually surprisingly different. Like said above, the British one practically has no innocent funny situations - something which exists in the U.S. version and makes it considerably lighter. The U.K. version is almost complete sheer awkwardness (often overwhelming for me). I know some people find that extremely funny, I often just cringed and shaked my head in denial (I found some funny, though) while still having the impression that most (if not all of this stuff) could *actually happen in real life*. I think also that the U.K. one did well to end at a couple of series.
