Post by brunoafh »

There needs to be a Dark Souls thread.

New trailer released today, October release window confirmed. The game looks fantastic.

I honestly didn't like Demon Souls that much, I know I'm in the minority there and can also say I didn't give it too much time. I definitely think I plan to give it another try someday since it's gotten so cheap, and I usually do enjoy a lot of From Software games. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it at the time (that happened a lot when I was using Gamefly, lol).

You should definitely give Demon's Souls another try man. It's my favorite game this gen by far. If you like From Software's games, I don't see how it's possible to dislike this one. I could really talk Demon's Souls up, but it's been done over and over so I won't.

Did you play it with the online features? Doing that is a big part of what makes it so great, but even without it's an incredibly well designed and fun game. I think a lot of people are probably turned off initially by the overwhelmingly bleak setting and overall bizarre design (but again, you said you like From Software, so you're probably used to their strange strange choices). If you try it again, give it a chance and progress a bit.

You can get a copy of the US version for under $20 used.

Never tried anything online with it. I can't pinpoint what I didn't like about it when I first played it, but I really think it was mostly a mood thing. We've talked Armored Core before and some aren't as great as others but I still dig the franchise, 3D Dot Heroes was amazing, and I even love Ninja Blade (need to get that one again to finish it. But yeah I'd say this game tears up Ninja Gaiden 2). I really need to play those Otogi games ...

Back on topic though, yeah I definitely plan to give it another whirl sometime. I also like to appreciate it a lot because it sold so well and that's awesome for Atlus. Dark Souls isn't something I'm really keeping up with, but I think I'm interested enough to definitely check it out sometime too.

I watched the trailer. Then I accidentally made some Sticky White Stuff.

Wait, what? When I click on the links from their website it brings me to the regular version of the game (not collectors edition). Am I missing something? I'd really like to get the collectors if it's the same price :D

Yeah I dunno why that would happen. The link seems to work for me. Just go here and click on Collector's Edition in the corner.

 that had to burn.

I can't wait for this but am I the only one that thinks it kinda sucks atlus isn't the publisher? I like seeing them do well and DS was their highest selling game. :sad face:
