Games you don't want to play after they're beat

I was going through my games for the xbox that I've beaten in the past that ended in away that makes not want to play them again. I don't want to get rid of the games either because they were so good and I played the games for hours and hours. Has anyone else experienced this? What games were they and why?

Roadkill - I liked almost everything in the game (story, characters, and weapons). I spent what seamed for ever trying to unlock vehicles and finding all the hidden weapons and stuff. I didn't even really care when I found out there was a bug that didn't allow you to unlock all vehicles and in the end I got a fire power powerup from mp in sp (glitch?). Then I beat it and I was like, this game is one of the best games I've ever played. A while later I tried to play it again I just couldn't get back into it. It just didn't feel right maybe because it was so good I didn't want wreck the first experience of beating it or something. I just don't know.

Area 51 - I loved this game; difficulty, weapons, story, everything. I went through the game a few times to unlock all the videos and everything and now I can't play it. I don't know if its the long sections that take forever to complete or what but I do know I still have urges to play it.

What do you think?

I would say most games I finish I dont want to play again, purely because I have too many new games in my backlog to think about replaying anything but the utter best.

Agreed. Th only games I've replayed are the first three Spyro the Dragon games, classic Mario, and arcade type games or games with no save points that are easy to get into.

Exactly! Both of you couldn't have said it any better. I was always curious if I was the only one who did that. I feel better now. It's all about the replay value honestly and it's sad that some of today's newer next gen games don't seem to have that. Examples: I just beat Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on Xbox 360 and I proabably won't play the thing ever again. It will be the same story with Call of Duty: Black Ops once I complete the campaign mode and get bored of the online multiplayer. However, I will always go back to my NES, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy, etc. games in a heart beat! I guess maybe it's just reliving my youth and the games that hold special meaning to me? I can't explain it and I'll post a freaking novel about it just trying to analyze it!

Sonic Adventure: I thoroughly enjoyed it, don't get me wrong, but having to actively compete against the camera's random jerks got tiresome and don't seem myself buzzing through it again.

Hm. I usually end up replaying games all the time. I'm not even sure how many times I've beaten Mega Man 2, FFIV and Metal Gear Solid. Dozens each.

GTA games. They take so long to complete, mostly because you get so side tracked all the time, that by the time you are finished with it you are just completely spent on the world. I would've said Rockstar games in general, but Bully broke that trend for me, in that I actually went back to play it again almost immediately after finishing it the first time.

Those games are exceptions (and exceptional)! For me, most lengthy turn-based RPGs I don't touch again, in fact most lengthy games in general I often don't play again with a few exceptions, like the ones brunoafh listed. I think it might be easier to list the games I do end up playing over and over again.
