Re: New console talk
This. Ever since I got a Netflix subscription, I haven't bought or rented any Blu-Ray movies unless I had too. For new movies I try to use the Apple TV as it's cheaper than renting the physical disc as well.GSZX1337 wrote:It is being phased out. Older. Not wiser.
Re: New console talk
I'm not ready for any new console talk. Not yet at least.
Re: New console talk
I skipped Blu Ray completely. Never bought a single movie on BD. I already had the internet prior to Blu Ray coming out so it was obsolete on day one.

Re: New console talk
Well dang, am I the only one happy with this? I always get excited when I hear about new consoles. I'm the guy watching E3 hoping to get a glimpse of the next console. I'm the one reading the headlines about them and trying to find out all the hardware facts about it. And as soon as it's out, I want to play it (I usually don't have the money to buy it, though). I guess I'm one of the sheep.

You know what man, you're not the only one. I'm excited too.BurningDoom wrote:Well dang, am I the only one happy with this? I always get excited when I hear about new consoles. It doesn't make you a sheep.
It just means you love games, old and new.

Actually, it just makes you an early adoptor. Nothing wrong with that, but those are the people who end up getting screwed sometimes. Buy a system only to find out it has defects that future revisions of it won't have and is lacking features or extra memory space that later revisions will have. Of course I am in nooooo way referring to the Xbox 360. I mean really, what would anyone even think that?CFFJR wrote:You know what man, you're not the only one. I doubt there will be a crash; there was a crash in 1983 from the mounds of shoddy games full of bugs, promises of great gaming on the box but appalling when you played them (and didn't look like the games on the box), several consoles being released at a similar time, etc.
These days, you can choose from literally tens of thousands of games from back catalogues to play so if you get a bad game it's because you either didn't research or got sweeped in the hype.
Personally I hate the new wavy sticks in newer consoles, the only thing worse is the motion detection when you stand in the room and become the virtual controller - no thanks, controller in the hand for me every time - ie retro, Xbox and before. Only bought the Wii for the Mario games, nothing else on the Wii (apart from Wii Fit for the wife) has any interest. Doubt i'll get another new console again; no need to, got a choice of many thousands of titles from retro consoles with masses of playability and game quality and can be bought cheaply. Retro for me!

I'm excited for price drops on old consoles brought on by new consoles coming out
