Should I upgrade my PSP to 6.37?
Currently I use 6.35 so that I can use the PRO HEN. But now this sucks because FFIV requires 6.37. Sigh. I know A LOT of homebrew is signed now, but now much of it is? I have no interest in playing ISO's. I just want to continue using all the nice emulators and hoembrew games I have. Dammit.

Re: Should I upgrade my PSP to 6.37?
to answer my own question: it looks like wololo's Half-Byte Loader has been signed and updated to work on OFW 6.37, which would mean I could use it to launch pretty much all homebrew in OFW.
(where's avrame to confirm?)

Which PSP model you have? You could always get a pandora battery and then downgrade to 6.35 after you have finished playing FF.

I"m fairly certain I have the unhackable MB. I have a 2000, and last time I threw a Pandora in it nothing happened.

I know it sounds unreasonable/impractical, but I actually keep two PSPs. One for all the "fun stuff", the other is legit. I've found it much better than upgrading/downgrading messing around to be a combo of legit and not. This way I can use my legit PSP to purchase from PSN (which I do quite a bit).
That being said, there doesn't seem to be a lot of harm in upgrading to 6.37.

I'm just gonna upgrade. I'm too lazy to upgrade/downgrade. And 1 PSP is enough for me. But it seems like most Homebrew can still be handled via the HBL.
EDIT: so I updated, and the HBL works great. So, I'm happy. Haha.

You can always compile and sign the homebrew yourself. It's not that hard. Took me about 30 minutes to figure out how to decrypt, remove DRM and sign PS3 games, signing homebrew is even easier.

true. More and more homebrew is coming out as signed versions anyway.Niode wrote:You can always compile and sign the homebrew yourself. It's not that hard. Took me about 30 minutes to figure out how to decrypt, remove DRM and sign PS3 games, signing homebrew is even easier.
