Spriggan
Download
Zonk

Those are the only coming to mind at the moment that had more than one game, thus a 'series'.

The Genesis is probably by far one of the best ones up there, but I'm not an expert on the PCE so I'll refrain from voting for now. Definitely have a lot to check out on that system!

There's a PCE collection on the PSP?

Any other ported collections of PCE games on anything else? I tend to forget I think there's some on the VC for Wii's now too, might look into that whenever I get a Wii again.

There's a Star Soldier Collection and a Galaxy Fraulein Collection (Sapphire is the draw here, I'm not even sure what the other games included are) that I know of for PSP. They didn't get released in the US, but I'd imagine they're pretty import-friendly just being shumps and all, and they're not very expensive to get a hold of.

That is an interesting poll,i love shooters and play them on many home systems and there is at least one good one on ny format.
I voted Megadrive because of the sheer number of shooters there are,of course some are better than others but titles such as M.U.S.H.A,Zero Wing,Hellfire,Master Of Weapon,Truxton(Tatsujin),Empire Of Steel,Bio Hazerd Battle means it gets my vote.
The Pc engine/Turbo grafx would be close second its shooters are of good quality,R-Type is awsome then there are others like Soldier Blade,Blazing Lazers and it converts other classsic arcade shooters very well too. 8)
