Name of Arcade Shoot Them Up... (don't remember)

Post by Macareno »

Hi all there.
I'm trying to remember the name for an arcade game (coin-up) that I liked a lot when I was younger, but I'm unable, I hope someone here has better memory than I have...

What I remember:
- I'm Almost sure was a vertical scrolling
- Its quite "modern", I mean probably about the 90s (good colorfull graphics)
The key point.
You can grab two kinds of power-ups that were like a kind of "satellites" of your ship, I think the only colors available for this "satellites" / powerupos were blue and red.

One of the (let say that the blue ones) only shoot on the direction of advance of the screen, I mean, upwards vertically.

The other kind of satellite (I think they were red), they shoot in the inverse direction of the ship movement, I mean, if you moved the ship down, the satellites shoot in upwards direction, If you moved the ship left, they shooted in right direction.

Hope someone here ever played this game and can help me remember its name, cause its becoming an obsession :-P
Thanks a lot in advance.

Now you've got me going... I actually have a good idea which game you're thinking of, but... tip of the tongue... I probably even have owned it. :D

If I think of it, I'll get back to you. Otherwise, maybe someone else will think of it in the meantime.

Haha, that's the game that was on the tip of my tongue! It could also be Image Fight II. They were also on arcade, as well as had an NES (well, Famicom at least) port.

There are other TG emulators other than Magic Engine, if you really want to play longer than 10 mins.

The first one did come out for the NES in the US.
