Apple's really starting to piss me off. Trying the developer builds of Lion, i'm not happy at all. I gather this will be my last Mac, especially with how well Windows 7 has been done.

Ah, so you figured out that Mac sucks. I found that out about 12 or so years ago, and then a second time about 2 years ago when I got an iMac for free. That piece of trash couldn't do anything right.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Apple's really starting to piss me off. Trying the developer builds of Lion, i'm not happy at all. Re: Random Thoughts Thread
No, not at all. I never said Mac OS sucks. I said the developer builds of Lion suck. It's not the final product. My current MacBook Pro does everything I ask of it and works just fine. From what I can tell from the developer builds though, I probably wont be too happy with the next iteration of Mac OS. That may change though.BoringSupreez wrote:Ah, so you figured out that Mac sucks. I found that out about 12 or so years ago, and then a second time about 2 years ago when I got an iMac for free. 7 dungeons in, I think I'm gonna have to say Oracle of Seasons was a lot better than Oracle of Ages to me. I think a lot of it has to do with the overworld design. I thought the seasons thing would be tedious going into that one, but it wasn't at all and navigating the entire overworld was not bad at all, similar in design to LA/LTTP I'd say. Ages on the other hand gets so overly complicated sometimes it's really annoying. Like just now when I had to go back and find that Smithy guy through that lava town, I had to go through that maze again, going back and forth between the past and present to get through the altered terrains, etc. Don't even get me started on Goron City! And the Zoro section was pretty annoying as well.
The way they did the time thing with Ages is just kind of gimmicky and annoying to me. It's neat to see the little changes when you do things, but yeah. In LTTP it was never this tedious at all, it was just like... hey, here's a completely different new world to explore!
Also, Level 5 was the worst thing ever. The music certainly didn't help at all, I eventually just took off my headphones for half the thing.
Still not bad and I'd easily put it above Minish Cap, Phantom Hourglass, etc, but I don't think it ranks up there with Seasons and LA to me.

I don't remember the music being annoying but I also don't remember a lot of things. It's amazing how much details I forget.Xeogred wrote:Ages on the other hand gets so overly complicated sometimes it's really annoying. I seem to recall that Oracle of Ages was more puzzle-based so it would make sense that the maze can be frustrating.
What is the issue with Goron City? I think the only difficult part I had was trying to have the right beat/timing for the Goron Dance in order to get the boomerang. Wow, that was tough for me.
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
I also enjoyed Seasons better than Ages, as I recall. This surprised me a little, because I generally enjoy puzzle-based gameplay. I just found Ages to get annoying far too often, and I also hated dealing with the Gorons. I honestly wasn't in love with either, though.Xeogred wrote:7 dungeons in, I think I'm gonna have to say Oracle of Seasons was a lot better than Oracle of Ages to me.

Maybe your memory has faded on this one too...gtmtnbiker wrote:What is the issue with Goron City? I think the only difficult part I had was trying to have the right beat/timing for the Goron Dance in order to get the boomerang. Wow, that was tough for me.
It was a huge item fetch quest, cave entrances and exists riddled throughout the area and you had to go back and forth through time (trading items or creating new paths via branches, etc), like more than a dozen times. Had to play several minigames to get new items, and had to do the dancing thing at least -twice- to get BOTH keys to the 6th dungeon. That was extremely annoying because I thought there was only one until I just looked it up and realized after beating the Platinum Dance 3 times or something, I had to give the Lava Juice to some random Goron around the place that gave me a Letter to the Graceful Goron Dancer that convinced him to give away the key if I won again. Then there was the 6th dungeon that had you go in and out a few times because you had to go back and forth through time to navigate the entire thing. This is barely scratching the surface of everything that was involved here.
Seriously, just youtube it or something if you're that curious. It was like the most annoying overly complicated area I've ever seen in a Zelda game,
