Introducing myself a year late :)

Post by GryeDor »

Well, I was thinking this morning that I never really took the time to introduce myself here... And, since it's been almost a year sicne I've joined the community here, it doesn't quite feel appropriate to do this on the New Members thread :D

Anyway, just wanted to do a quick run through and give you guys some insight.

I'm 27 years old, married to my wonderful wife (who bought Earthbound for me on my 26th birthday! How awesome is that?! AND she got a great deal on it!), currently working in sales, but have worked previously in manufacturing, IT, graphic design and fast food. My wife and I just brought home a 5 month old Newfoundland puppy and are planning a trip to Ireland within the next few weeks. We reside in the Toledo area of Ohio.

I've been a gamer all my life. Starting out with the newest home consoles, moving into PC gaming and MMORPG's (got sucked into EverQuest for a number of years), and now back into the retro home consoles, many of which are still my original systems.

I try to strike a balance between collecting and playing and will regularly impose buying hiatus' in order to play the games I have rather than amassing a larger and larger backlog.

Right now I'm actively collecting for about 10 of the consoles I own (things like the Game Gear don't get too much love :)) and it has recently been a goal to acquire each unique Zelda title and right now I'm one short (ALTTP & Four Sword on GBA), I also have a drive to complete the entire Capcom library for the NES although that's not an active pursuit right now.

Other than that, I've been practicing and working independently to become a film maker. I've got a few ideas I'm beginning to draft into working screenplays and would also love to create an episodic web show... more than likely something with muppets in it :D

Anwyay, just wanted to share... that's me in a few sentences! Thanks for reading!

Is it just me or has there been an influx of these lately?

Good luck with the Capcom library. I'm doing the same but some of those are quite rare now days.
Thanks everyone...

Hah, I had honestly thought about it, the heavy startup costs dissuades me from doing that since I'd have no other use for a CD-i :D So we'll say every unique, canon Zelda title. :)

Thanks man, I know, right? The Disney sequels, Snow Brothers and Mighty Final Fight will all elude me for a good long while, I'm sure. Good luck to you too!

Gryedor is also a great seller. I've bought a few things from him in the past. Enjoyed reading your introduction and glad that you're participating in the forums.

I'm not even sure I'm not an evil robot.

I think we should apply the standard robot test for everyone on the board:
