It took years of deep meditation, but I think I've finally reached the ultimate point of knowledge. Don't really wanna reach it completely because then it's YOU WIN...and you gotta start all over again after watching the credits.
Somebody sell me a model 1 modchip for Saturn. Please.

What does that have to do with
Not many good games on both systems as far as the US is concerned.

I just mean that he should look at the import for reasons to buy either systems because there will be so many obvious reasons to. This can be seen by the games I own. Not trying to knock the systems down or anything. Sorry for giving you a "short" answer rather than "long" answer.

I purchased both DC and Saturn within a few weeks last year, and both are excellent. It seems a lot easier to get all sorts of games for the DC, which can play any region without modification and for which prices are pretty much rock bottom, due in some part, i suspect, to the ease with which copied games can be played on this system.

Games for the Saturn seem rarer, especially the best ones, and playing imported games needs a modded system, which will cost extra.

As such I've used the DC way more than the saturn, and, given that I got the DC for less than the price of a couple of DVD's, can thoroughly reccomend this console.

...then you can play MARS MATRIX!

Actually you can play imports on a saturn without a mod. You just need and image of it...patch it withe ht Sega Region Patcher to U...then burn it and do the swap trick. That's how i do it.

Or just get an action replay. It works just dandy plus has the 1-4 ram for fighters and some extra memory for backing up your saves.

I'm just saying that because they were worried about having to buy that stuff....it's not necessary but it makes life easier.

If you tend to like Nintendo's epics (Zelda Metroid etc) you may be better off with the Saturn for it's tons of great RPG's and adventure games whereas the Dreamcast is more of a arcade machine. If you love arcade game though, get both as they have arcade games sweating from their veins, the Dreamcast in particular is like having a tiny arcade cabinet that plugs into your telly, the ports are that faithful.
