Broadcast doesn't really fit since it isn't sent out as radio waves and if you miss it, that's too bad. The word has already stuck and people know what it means. Internet Radio is a stupid term too when you thin about it.
Broadcast doesn't have to be radio waves. That's a radio broadcast. You're right, though, it it's stuck. Another terrible word, like television, that will permanently mar this already pock-marked language of ours.
Why exactly do you hate the word television?

I ask merely out of curiosity.

It's formed from a Greek prefix on a Latin base.

A podcast is a downloadable show that was created for the internet. It can be audio or video. The "pod" part of the name comes from Apple's ipod, but you don't actually need one to play it. Any device capable of playing audio or video files will work, such as a normal computer.

The name "netcast" would have been much better. It's not only more descriptive but it helps reduce the confusion of requiring an ipod.

What are you, a fisherman? We could have used Webcast, but then we'd have to get Spiderman involved.

I'd be OK with webcast too.

I think the best all around term is 'nerdcast'.

You say that like getting Spiderman involved would be a bad thing. Also, Jeopardy isn't retro enough. It should be something like "Where in the world is Retro Sandiago" and we can get Rockapella to do the theme song.
