Java Tea edition? That sounds like some kind of marketing joke. Is that a thing that exists?

EDIT: It IS a thing that exists! Reason #456 why I miss Sega.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Of course it exists, SEGA hammered the VF series to the point they made freakin' insane "Portraits" of the fighters from VF 1, the VF portrait series. Individual discs complete w/art, instructions, spines etc. Little "movies" telling the back story of each fighter, gawd awful and bloody great at the EXACT same time.

i have been playing maximum carnage, which is a beat em up. the game is great, but it is hard. very hard. you are only given 3 lives and 1 continue, which makes the game very unforgiving. i needed a break from it and decided to play some streets of rage 2. the game seems ssslllloooowwww compared to maximum carnage. and i hate how the characters can't run. but, the game is great. i still haven't beaten streets of rage yet, which i might do next.
if you took a shit, please put it back

I can't decide if this game is more brilliant than it is offensive. I suppose that's not a bad place to be entirely.

Are you aware of the secret rooms? You can build up a stock of lives fairly quickly with them.

Tiny hint: The first one is in stage two, Climb. It involves a window.

There's quite a few secrets in Maximum Carnage if you keep an eye out. The secret rooms can be stupidly hard to discover, but there are other in stage secrets that can help a lot too.

i am aware of them now. i hate doing it, but i had to use a walkthrough. and yes, they are hidden in stupid areas. no way i would have ever discovered them myself. they are very helpful, however. i can actually get through a decent chunk of the game now.

the dual boss fights are the worst. i lose the bulk of my lives from them. i'm still trying to find a better method to kill them without them killing me.

have you ever beat it?

Thoughts on the Game(s)

I utterly loved this game, so stylish. If there is ever a game that proves the point that video games are art, it is this one.

It is kind of a mix up of an old school point and click adventure game, with a mix of Professor Layton style puzzles, there is no speech in game, the story is told in pictographs.

Utterly BRILLIANT!

I hope to see a physical copy cheaper than $30, as a fan of point and click adventure games, it is one I would love to have in the collection.
