Satoshi Matrix Bead Sprites
Re: Satoshi Matrix Bead Sprites
Haha, so you finally got the emulator to work?
Pretty cool sprite by the way. Not my favorite of the PCE bunch, but that game has some excellent music.

Re: Satoshi Matrix Bead Sprites
Valis is unappreciated. I think the series is great in that late 80s/early 90s campy way. I'm still looking for a working copy of Urusei Yatsura for PCE CD. Think you can help me brunoafh? I need it in that dreaded mp3/iso format.
Re: Satoshi Matrix Bead Sprites
Is playing the Sega CD version an option? Sega CD emulation via XBox (assuming that's your goal) is generally much less picky, and you might be familiar with it already anyway.

Re: Satoshi Matrix Bead Sprites
yeah, but the Sega CD Urusei Yatsura is a completely different game. I'm looking to play the PCE one.
Re: Satoshi Matrix Bead Sprites
Do you happen to know the bead to size conversion rate? As in, if I wanted to replicate an entire genesis screenshot (or something crazy) how many inches/feet 320x224 would equal?

Re: Satoshi Matrix Bead Sprites
well...without doing the exact math, I'd say that would roughly the size of a large kitchen table.
Here's another little update for you guys.
Color enhanced Bomberman and bomb.

I think Perler beads are in the neighborhood of 5mm in diameter, so 320 of them would be around five and a half feet.Satoshi_Matrix wrote:well...without doing the exact math, I'd say that would roughly the size of a large kitchen table.

Re: Satoshi Matrix Bead Sprites
Yeah. Hurray for laziness!
Although just to prove I'm not overly lazy about everything, here's another very large project I've done.
The Change of Heart
Shown here is the Change of Heart magic card from the popular TCG Yu-Gi-Oh. Although I'm not a big fan of the anime (aside from the hilarious abridged series b y that multitalented British bloke) the cardgame itself is pretty fun, and regardless, I've always liked this image.
Kind of a stand-in for women in general - a gentle, kind, pure angel on one side, evil psycho-bitch on the other! Change of Heart is serious business.
image contains over 6000 beads.

Re: Satoshi Matrix Bead Sprites
This may have already been discussed, but what do you do for a pegboard for the larger projects. Do you have a really huge board, or do you put the sprites together in small portions then melt all the smaller tiles together at the end?
