What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Smile: 100% done with college. Degree will be conferred in a couple weeks. Start full time work on Wednesday. ZERO student debt. Finish moving on Tuesday. Things are really coming together.

Ticked (but not too badly) : Something mailed to me broke in-transit. I think it might be an easy fix and if not, the seller is totally legit. But it's always a bummer to see loose plastic bits where there should not be any. USPS may have claimed another victim.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Congrats man. Now you have the privilege of alumni funds/boosters/etc calling and asking for money.

A word of advice that you may already know: Keep in touch with your University, and continue to use all faculty as a resource to further your career. Referrals from professors in your career field can make a HUGE difference on where you land a job. But still, way to go and we all wish you the best.

Yeah, I have already learned the value of networking. I have the job I have today simply because I kept in touch with my first leading petty officer at my first training command after I finished bootcamp back in '02. And then 9 years later I randomly get a call asking if I need work.

So I've been really careful to identify which of my professors are recognized experts in their fields and which ones were bone heads clinging to their tenure like a life line. Fortunately, the more recognized and professional professors were all likable types who made me want to come to class - so keeping in touch won't be hard at all.

Oh and I've already told the alumni organization to blow me. One of those jerks called and had the gall to ask for a contribution to the football stadium renovation fund. My school has the HIGHEST student to professor ratio of all state schools in all of Texas and they have the nerve to want more money for a football stadium that was renovated just TWO years ago!?

/rant about schools wasting money on unprofitable sports programs.

Smile: Assuming I am not cursing myself, work has been returning to normal finally. Also my Beardyman album came.

Ticked: I've been trying to get the newer Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer CD and I've been sent the old album again twice now. The top is the one I got in December. I ordered the newer album in April and the second arrived about 2 weeks ago. I sent a message I got the wrong disc and the bottom one arrived today. It's a fine album and all but I want the new one. :(
