This is why you have rotten luck, to regularly pick up amazing deals you need to visit multiple stores multiple times a week, so when stuff comes in, your first on the scene.
That's right, you gotta be "that guy" who lurks at the thrift store several times a week if you ever want to score. I walk out empty handed quite a bit, and too many times I almost talk myself out of popping in (been there twice already this week, going so often probably creeps out the cute female cashier and gives the queer one the wrong idea, it's 50% off day and packed...) but for some reason the time's I almost don't go are when I actually find something. Luckily I have a Goodwill less than 2 miles from the house, which I have to pass to go practically anywhere, so i'm a regular.

Interestingly enough, the day after I find an NES and Zapper at my nearby GW, i'm checking out the GW on the other side of town on my way to work, when I find a loose orange Zapper for $2. I had two thoughts: what are the odds of 2 different Zappers (one grey one orange) at two different stores on consecutive days, neither of which I had ever seen at a GW, ever, and was the second Zapper loose, or was there more NES stuff there that someone grabbed before me, leaving the lightgun behind?

i know this feeling. i hate being "that guy who has nothing better to do than going to goodwill every few days." but, you definitely have to be persistant. you can't go once every few weeks and just hope you will stumble upon something good. it can happen, but not likely.

what sucks is when a goodwill worker hoards all the video games. it doesn't matter how much you rock at being "that guy," you just won't find anything.
if you took a shit, please put it back

My Goodwill used to be like this. That employee must have left or something, because I find good stuff there now. But a few years ago, I'd never find anything better than 3rd party PS1 controllers.

Fourth flee market of the year...

Mega Drive Castlevania The New Generation €20

Some writing in the booklet. Box and cartridge in very good condition.

Worst flee market thus far. Everyone was asking far too much for mostly shitty games... :x

Went to a few garage sales today, some had junk like High School Musical games for the DS, some had sports titles for the Gamecube, one even had a loose N64 that looked like it was used for claw hammer strike tests.

Wound up picking up Vice City, San Andreas, Onimusha, Capcom Classics Collection and Devil May Cry 3, all complete for the PS2, for a total of $10.

Got the following today:

Metroid Zero Mission GBA (CIB): $4
Star X GBA: $2
Castlevania Circle of the Moon GBA: $4
Disgaea Afternoon of Darkness PSP (CIB): $15

Also, I found this Famicom knock-off at a store for $5. I found this picture of it online. It looks like an N64 controller, but doesn't use the analog stick, and has the cartidge oport in the back. Here it is compared to a real N64 controller:
