The other morning I was awoken at 5am by hitting my head on my desk. I did this by somehow flinging myself out of bed (my bed is parallel to my desk).
The thing is that just before I woke up I was having a dream where I was being chased by a huge snake, running away from the snake in the dream actually made fall out of my bed in real life.
I've never had a dream that interacted with real life so much (and hurt so much).
Anyone have any similar stories?

It happens
I've screamed in dreams only to find out people had actually heard me scream in the real world and then you have people who sleep walk like Mike Birbiglia. Check this out and look at the personal life section:

I often confuse my events that took place in dreams with actual happenings in my life.
Re: Dreams interacting with real life
I've had dreams that felt so damn real that upon waking I wasn't sure if it was a dream at all.
You have that scary few minutes where you're like: "Was that a dream, or just what happened yesterday?"
Situations like that are freaky if it was an unpleasant dream.

Wow that sucks. I didn't get more than a black eye from when I bashed my head on my desk.Birbiglia has rapid eye movement behavior disorder (sleepwalking), which caused him to run out of a second-story window of a motel he was staying at in Walla Walla, Washington, while on tour.[15][16] As a result of the accident, Birbiglia received 33 stitches in his leg.[11][16] He now sleeps under sedation or in a sleeping bag.

Ok, this is pretty damned ridiculous, and may seem far-fetched as it's pretty weird. My younger brother for years sleep-fixed-and-ate bowls of cereal. He would jam the spoon into his face trying to eat the cereal, get the table covered in milk, leave everything out and wander back into bed. It was really annoying because we our milk kept going bad, but also really funny. He would also sleepwalk, sleepkick, and sleepmumble strange sentences. I shared a bedroom with him until we were about 5 or 6, and he would suddenly mumble things like "I just got a brand new car."

This happens to me all the time. When I was a kid, I had a dream that I was levitating and shaking in mid-air from some demonic force. My dad told me the next morning he heard my bed shaking in the middle of the night.
And of course, Tears for Fears holds true here: "...the dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had."

When I get sleep paralysis I often become semi-aware of the real surroundings in my room. It's strange though, as generally some element of my room will be distorted or some sort of dream induced apparition appears over a mostly accurate portrayal of my room in real life.
I too have times when I'm not sure if something occurred in a dream or in real life, generally these experiences regard social matters.

I've had conversations with people while still asleep and the content of the conversation worked its way into my dream. I've even aparently given advice on fixing computers while asleep. My brother was talking about something weird on his laptop. I told him I had a weird dream about that same problem the night before, and he told me I had a conversation with him about how to fix it. I was completely asleep and was fixing someone else's tower computer in the dream.
My parents have told me I used to scare the crap out of them by vivdly explaining the end of the world in a monotone voice after sleepwalking into their room with my eyes still closed when I was 8-9 years old. The solution was to feed me before sending me to bed. It got rid of the nightmares and sleepwalking.
